OR Golf society
Sunday 18th May 2003
Unfortunately the O.R. golf team failed
to qualify for the finals of the 2003 Grafton Morrish tournament. In atrocious
weather at Fixby Golf Club at Huddersfield on Sunday 18th May, they fell
short of the points needed to qualify by 6. Howard Jones and Mike Harris
did their best to rally the team with scores of 34 each but the constant
downpour took its toll, despite
playing the course and staying locally on the Saturday.
The next golf event is the Welsh Public School's Old Boys Tournament at
Delamere Forest Golf Club on Friday 3rd October, 2003
Golf tournament was a great success.
Friday 9th May 2003
The winner of the Sharples
Trophy was Howard B.Jones with 35 pts and the best individual score from
the guests was Chris Randles with 37 pts.
He was presented with 2 whisky glasses.
The evening concluded with dinner in the
club house with some 30 O.R'S and their guests.
Next year's competition will be held at Blackwell Golf Club, which is
near Bromsgrove.
New sports hall under construction
April 2003
The School have started work on the new
sports hall. It is scheduled for completion in November so should be available
for inspection when we all
attend the annual dinner on the 8th November.
Michael (Boris) Swift takes over
as treasurer
April 2003
Michael (Boris) Swift has taken over from
David Cotes as treasurer. David had been at the financial helm of the
Association for 27 years. This must be something of a record and we are
all very grateful for his wise and helpful counsel over the years.
